Summer is here, and the heat causing a lot of mood swings, irritation, dehydration and the sweat dripping from your face. The scorching heat literally drains the life out of you… making one lifeless dull and grumpy 😣
During this time we enjoy swimming , pool side parties… we savour on Fresh fruits , Coolers, Popsicles, Ice-cream, Juices and so on…
The best way to beat the heat …..is with a Fruit Salad and by making it more nutritious and healthy …..does wonders to your skin and body.
This recipe that I am about to share includes Chia seeds.. they are rich in Omega-3, high in fibre , protein and loaded with anti-oxidants.
Coconut Milk is lactose free, rich in Magnesium, Iron and phosphorus 😃. Fruits are rich in Vitamins, Minerals, Anti-oxidants & Phytonutrients.
For making the Fruit & Chia Salad you would require ……
Pomogranate- 1/2 Cup
Banana – 1
Mango – 1/2 cup
Coconut milk – 1 Cup (chilled)
Maple syrup – 2 Tbsp
Vanilla Essence – 1/2 Tsp
Chia seed – 3 Tbsp
Cinnamon powder – 1/4 Tsp
In a bowl add the Coconut milk, chia seeds , maple syrup, vanilla essence and Cinnamon powder. Mix it well. The Coconut and Chia mixture is ready. ( preferably soak it overnight in the fridge)
In a glass assemble the fruits.
First goes Pomogrannate , then add a layer of the Coconut Chia mixture .
Next goes Kiwi, followed by the Coconut Chia mixture .
Add the Banana and Mango, followed by the Coconut Chia mixture .
Lastly top it with Pomogrannate ( for the pop of colour) .
Your quick , easy and nutritious Fruit & Chia Salad is ready.
You can use any seasonal fruits of your choice. This is relished across all age groups 😋
